Recent studies are forecasting that climate change and global warming will lead to making certain regions of the planet unsuitable for human life. Indeed, researchers found that humans faces deadly conditions if the temperature is above 40°C combined with 20% humidity, but the temperature threashold is around 30°C when the humidity rises.
Thus the rise of temperature, is even more impactful in humid regions, such as Africa, South America, and Indonesia. These regions are also the main cocoa producers.
This may lead to several issues :
Inhabitant of these regions may have to migrate, leading to a reduction of cocoa production
Harvesting cocoa could become much more costly
A drastic change on where will be produce cocoa in 2050
