Notre environnement est composé de trois types de systèmes:
1. Ceux gouvernés par la prédiction
– la distribution d’événements est connue en théorie et a priori
– exemple: le lancer de dés
2. Ceux gouvernés par le risque
– la distribution d’événement est connue empiriquement donc a posteriori, en observant les tirages au cours du temps
– exemple: vol de voitures
3. Ceux gouvernés par l’incertitude
– la nature des événements n’est pas connue a priori et leur distribution ne peut donc pas l’être
– exemple: marché émergent, révolution, tout événement inédit
